‘I Am Trying to Remember’ to vie at Hot Docs filmfest

Iranian documentary ‘I Am Trying to Remember’ is to vie at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Canada.

Iranian actress Pegah Ahangarani’s directorial experience will compete at the 2022 edition of the event.

In ‘I Am Trying to Remember’, Pegah talks about Gholam, a man who’s not like her father, mother, uncles, or aunts, even though he’s always present at family gatherings.

Gholam films these everyday scenes with his own camera. At the time, Pegah can’t imagine what the purpose of these films might be, but she’s happy to pose before the lens of this family friend, who she’s certainly very fond of.

The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is the largest documentary festival in North America.

The event is recognized as a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards in the Documentary Feature and Documentary Short Subject categories.

The next edition of the event is scheduled for April 28 – May 6, 2022.
